About our Club

The Newtownards Manchester United Supporters Club formed in 1993. With approx 30 members the first meeting was held in Ards Football Club on the Portaferry Road. The first committee consisted of Leo Caffolla, Michael Meredith and Thompson Paden. Members in club since early years are Jim Livingstone, George Gibson, Joe Tully and Tom Wright. We gained affiliation with MUFC in 1993.
NMUSC joined NIFED in 2006 to improve associations with MUFC.

Ards Football Club remained our meeting place until closure. The NMUSC then moved to Nixxs Sports Bar and in 2003 relocated to Ards rugby club. In the early years we had two trips to Old Trafford per season. Fifty members travelled via boat across the Irish Sea and coach through Scotland. 

The club has always been known to have junior members, male and female. Therefore we were known as a family club. Members from our supporters’ club later branched off into Comber and North Belfast and we still keep in touch with these branches
